CALL FOR APPLICATIONS (EXTENDED): GCARSIH
The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and the Department of Health (DOH), in collaboration with the Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) Philippines and the Regional Health Research and Development Consortia (RHRDC), are pleased to inform you that the submission of applications for the Gelia Castillo Award for Research on Social Innovations in Health (GCARSIH) is extended until 21 September 2020.
The twofold purpose of the Gelia Castillo Award for Research on Social Innovations in Health (GCARSIH) is to:
1. Recognize social innovations that address persistent, societal, and systemic health challenges in the Philippines; and
2. Acknowledge the initial outcomes and impact in the communities, support there promising innovations for further research and development in order to amplify results, and jumpstart sustainability and scale-up.
For the purposes of this award, Social Innovation in Health (SIH) is defined as:
“A novel solution (process, product, practice, market mechanism) created and implemented by a range of stakeholders, in response to a priority health need within a geographical context.
It has enabled health care that is more inclusive, affordable, and effective.”
